Lolo Trail Center is nestled in the heart of the Lolo National Forest near the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness - only 7 miles from the Montana/Idaho border. The Center maintains a quiet and peaceful atmosphere which is conducive to your relaxation and enjoyment.

In many ways, time seems to stand still here. You can walk in the footprints of Lewis and Clark; experience the beautiful surroundings; enjoy recreational opportunities; relax in our comfortable lodging; soak in the natural hot springs; view historical items; and much more. Lewis and Clark stayed at the Lolo Hot Springs in September 1805, returning June 1806. They hunted and captured 4 deer here after not having any meat for several long traveling days. They conversed and shared meals with local Indians and relaxed sore muscles in the hot springs. If you truly want to experience the heart of Lewis and Clark's journey, look no further than the Lolo Trail Center!

Stroll over to our popular bookstore and select a book from numerous titles and topics and then kick back and relax with the book of your choice in our comfortable rooms without TV or telephones. Enjoy the 'Grotto,' with its thermal spring flow-through pools, or select a special memento of your stay from our gift shop - featuring beautiful handcrafted, one of a kind silver jewelry as well as many unique items. Have a large group? Want to have a family reunion or other special gathering? We can make your visit a special memory.
Lolo Trail Center also has a conference center and library, Dinner Theatre, Wolf Den and gallery.

We like kids at the Lolo Trail Center and have things that would interest them too!  Do Your children need to write a book report on the Nez Perce or Lewis and Clark?  We have free brochures and maps to help them, and also 20 Lewis and Clark books for first grade through high school. They'll also find a Lewis and Clark computer game, puzzles, and a stuffed animal that looks like Lewis' dog, Seaman.

We also have games that are replicas of those that entertained children in Lewis and Clark's time, such as pewter jacks, clay marbles, tin whistles and more! You can find some children's items in our online store. Our educational exhibits provide a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Lewis and Clark, the region, and the people of this land. We look forward to your visit to the Lolo Trail Center, which is rich in history and hospitality.
